With the growth of Amazon and other online retailers, some people think that brick and mortar retail is dead. That might be true for some but just don’t tell the folks at Woodinville-based Pet Pros.
That’s because Pet Business magazine honored the locally-owned and operated 33-year-old pet food and supplies chain as the National Pet Retailer of the year.
“For more than three decades, Pet Pros has exemplified the valuable role that family-owned independent pet stores can play in enhancing the health and quality of life of companion animals and their owners,” said Mark Kalaygian, publishing director/editor in chief of Pet Business. “By staying true to its ‘Four Pillars’ of natural, healthy products, education, fun and community, while evolving to meet the changing needs of its customers, Pet Pros has been able to successfully navigate the seismic changes that have occurred in pet product retailing over the years. The result is a chain that has not only an impressive past, but a bright future.”
Pet Pros will be the subject of Pet Business’ August cover story, and the magazine will host a reception to honor the Pet Pros team during the upcoming SuperZoo trade show, which will be held Aug. 20-22 in Las Vegas.
While Amazon has and continues to drive much prosperity to the Eastside, let’s not forget about our local retailers who create community in the areas they serve.
